you only had 2 really bad years (2009 and 2020)
what does suck hard for U.S. is it's ever growing government debt of way over 100% (136% now)
I don't think my country ever reached 100% at all. it about 50% average
If you can't fix that problem you only going to get bigger problems later on.
Kind of sick really considering how much of a drain war is on the nation.
Why isn't war non profit?
Will take very difficult and tough decisions to cut spending the american people I believe are not willing to bear. If america, cut their military spending in half, that would save $350 billion a year. So in ten years, the debt would of dropped by over $3.5 trillion. Again, no one would be voted into officer for cutting spending.
imo america should tax business more heavy, and workers less.
where I'm from, industry and business tax is higher than people tax (or whatever it is called in english)
it is much healthier this way.
let the big corporations pay up what they should for once, instead of high tax on citizens.
Especially super filthy disgusting criminal factories of Dupont should get taxed to death.
There is no reason corporations should be given grants (from our tax dollars) for purchasing homes and offering them back to us (for rent) at unreasonably high prices.
There is no reason to 'stimulate the economy' when most people can't afford to spurge (due to wages not keeping up with inflation), and those who do are using credit card debt for it.
And no one should need any years of prior experience to work at an entry-level retail/fast food job.
This kinda feels like the endgame of Monopoly where you and whatever friends are still playing have like $200 and a bunch of mortgaged properties and one person has all the money and hotels everywhere...and you're still expected to play.
I get why younger people don't care: They're aware enough to know everyone else expects to get rich off of their misfortune, and 'the only way to win is to not play'.
The problem is that Covid destroyed the generations desire to work. I went back to work during Covid - at a hospital nonetheless. No fear! We had a few cases come through last week.
My co-workers like to see gross, disgusting, dirty hospital floors. This is highly unacceptable. Some people NEED to be SUPERVISED in order for them to even do their job. We have no supervisor. I see a lot of slackers that need supervision and cannot be mature enough to work without a supervisor watching them.
All generations, not just the younger generation; however, the younger generations slack off far more then most other older generations, but I see slackers also in the elders.
I have a disability called "Good Workers Syndrome (GWS)" which is a disorder where I get so sick to my stomach unless everyone around me is giving 110%. Side effects are pride, responsibility, and a feverish enthusiasm. It used to be a common condition among Americans.
to be fair, a really laid back and cool boss is highly uncommon.
Never I stole something for home that would be missed at work.
I often stole from other departments in the past and build my own office kingdom and ended up with a better printer than I first had,a microwave, big american refrigerator (I went to bakery for stuff to fill it cause empty looked sad and let my workers eat from it whenever they fancy)
and a watercooler (sneaky stealing fresh bottle from the other side of the building was really hard work, those things are heavy!)
edit: I remember the refrigatorator got stolen back after a while, but we just ate all the sausage rolls so the damage done was minimal
This forced them to keep prices down while investing in themselves.
Year end companies would buy things instead of having too much "profit". They invested in equipment and buildings etc that gave actual value to a business. They would give out raises to workers so they could afford to buy more things and support the economy and competition.
Since trickle down economics came in during Reagan's time there has been a focus on keeping all value out of a business and only give raises if people ask for them. That was the new model of business... keep it liquid and just let stuff die and declare bankruptcy and start over, forgetting the suffering in your wake... Trump made his empire off this.
Push until it breaks, then just fix what broke and keep pushing... that is the modern fascist business model in America
mostly apple flaps and lot of sausage rolls. I not rich enough to stuff it with pies xd
When I left college and started working as a kitchen hand/cleaner at this mental health home and I too noticed, staff stealing food and other stuff for this place. Then when I started nursing, I witness staff stealing not only food but items meant for the clients such as shampoo's, razor blades, even spending the petty cash on themselves. I kept quite in fear for my own job/career. Years later they was a big investigation that made the news about it.
Try not to get upset about it, do your bit and go home at the end of the shift/duty. I fully understand your feelings, been there myself. Working with others who all chip in makes a working day great, when someone slacks off, it makes the working day tougher.
Plus we all have them days, if someone isn't feeling to well, cut them some little slack and vice versa. I remember a woman I worked with once, she was proper ill and so slept in one of the clients bed most of the day, I was cool with that.
