I see no problem there. That's what you get for copypasting the 'This comment is awaiting analysis' message (At most it's spam, at the bare minimum it's an offtopic comment).

How we can tell you weren't actually banned for a post pending analysis? Easy:

Since the ban message includes a quote of the original post the ban notice would show the original message, not the awaiting analysis text. Anyone can check it by quoting a post still stuck in the analysis queue.

I took a 5 year break from Steam and only recently came back (family bereavement) and I was quite surprised that the moderators had gone.

I honestly believe that they did a fantastic job, giving up their free time to keep the community clean, gone but not forgotten

They did not keep it clean at all, you can easily find a lot of toxic users around. That's their legacy.
