What RTS is the best ever?
For me the best i ever played is Starcraft, no doubt. Works great even today and it is free too (optional paid remastered version which is great too). I played it since like early 2000s and spent hundreds of hours playing with friends (yeah not that much i know but almost every minute was great). I wonder if it will ever come to Steam now that Blizzard came here? Starcraft 2 is pretty good as well but not nearly as well made and competitive (in a good way) as the first.

Oh man, that's like asking me to pick my favorite child.

Startcraft 1 and 2 are both amazing, but I'd have to go with AOE 2 or Star Wars GBS, which is really just AOE2 with a Star Wars wrapper.

Agree with Starcraft and Warcraft. My favourite is the Red Alert 3 series (Command & Conquer). Command & Conquer is fun but I found the AI in Red Alert more enjoyable i.e. no weird/almost broken sudden waves of hoards.
