Still the idea that fate controls all would mean luck did not exist either. Then you have to deal with the whole karma jazz... but if karma really existed I doubt the world would be in the state it is today.

Well, let's think of fate in a different way than most people do.

Most people think of it like destiny, where your entire life is planned out in advance and nothing will ever change it.

Fate is similar, except trying to fight it makes your life worse.

Two very different concepts.

No to me fate is more like no matter what you do, it was meant to happen that way.
So you can't really fight fate in that sense.

Now to accept ones fate that someone manufactured is just saying to accept reality. If you fight reality you can certainly hurt yourself. But there are times people feel they must regardless.

To be or not to be ... to accept fate and be a living noble coward or fight and die a hopeless death.
