the dsm-iv is outdated lmao
the dsm-v has different, arguably stricter criteria for gender dysphoria
It's also viewed as highly political, DSM -4 is data from a less-biased time.

And as medical professional I think trying to politicize this topic is evil. People aren't getting the help that they need because of political activists with an agenda.
i'm guessing that as a medical professional, you have a way to justify the use of the dsm-iv's looser criteria for "gender identity disorder", over the use of the better revised, more actualized, stricter dsm-v criteria for gender dysphoria, made with more knowledge than the dsm-iv's criteria
right?

Remember in progressive places like California they jail/fine/fire medical professions for not using someone's preferred pronouns.

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the good news.

Well sure...many of the changes were viewed as highly political, that's a great reason not to support it. But just because my source is the DSM 4, doesn't mean the facts I support aren't also in the DSM-5.

The fact that your side had to come up with a word that they label anyone who disagrees kind of says it all...nobody in reality is transphobic...a phobia is an irrational fear of something...nobody is irrationally afraid of trans-folk. Transphobia is a word created to "other" anyone who disagrees. Science is something that can and should be questioned, if you're labeled as irrationally being afraid of trans-folk who questioning the "science" maybe it's not "science" that you're questioning.

That just demonstrates your limited knowledge about this word (phobia). It doesn't mean only fear, but also intense aversion, dislike for something.

It's a bit obvious that transphobic criminals aren't afraid of their victims while spanking them to death. You do not attack that which you're afraid of.

I don't mind it to be honest. it's only a matter of time before it's overturned as Unconstitutional and discriminatory, I think whoever ends up suffering because of that law should sue the ever living crap out of both the state and whoever was misfortune enough to fire them. So it's a very likely happy ending story for them.

And for me...it's a great example of left-wing tyranny...of demanding medical professionals ignore the science and do what the politicians tell them to. Heck there's even a certain amount of a "slavery" element to what they're demanding. For argument purposes their fascists is freaking amazing.

i'm asking if you can prove to me that the dsm-iv's "gender identity disorder" diagnosis is better than the dsm-v's gender dysphoria diagnosis, not based on some notion that "the dsm-v is political", but based on the actual descriptions, diagnoses, and criteria the two offer

i'm sure that, as a medical professional, you should be able to do that, right?

the problem with them from what i see is that they claim to be the opposite gender
do you look like one?
do you sound like one?
are you actually one?
do you even know how it feels to have a period or something? i bet you don't because you are not a woman
it's not even about insulting but the reality [/quote]

Ironically, some transwomen look a lot more feminine than ciswomen. But yeah they don't know how it feels to have a period because they're transwomen, not ciswomen. It's not rocket science.

Nice, quotes are broken again.

the problem is you generalize womanhood

not all women have periods
not all women look or sound the way you expect women to do
none of those things are inherent, reliable indicators of womanhood

I don't care if you don't like the answer I already gave...it's political.

Look reality doesn't care about your feelings.

The idea of trans wasn't created until Dr. John Money in the last 1970's created it. And he's a gross enough scientists that his works shouldn't be taken seriously.

Okay...looked it up...cult members who castrated themselves and went around dressed as woman.

And for the record with our modern social sensibility in regards to trans-women being "real" women...do you view those cult members as being "real" women?

I view them as real transwomen, yes, because what makes you trans is not HRT, surgeries or anything like that, but something in your brain as science has discovered. Why you ask, though? Does it even matter how I view things?:lunar2019crylaughingpig:
