You have to prove to a judge via social services that they are mentally disabled and this takes too much time. Homeless people who are sane or willing to get help can usually make it.
Some poeple on this forum have been homeless.
Drug addiction and having a drug abstinence on the streets can be really deadly.
yes immigrants work but they don't pay taxes if not registered or illegally in the country.
they also take away jobs no matter how big or small they take em away from homeless.
the biggest issue for homelessness is mental or drug abuse which we all know how mental health is treated in america (same as any other health problem just they over tax you AND now don't care about it lmao).
get them some help first mentally or to kick their addictions / bad habits
then a job or community services for them to do
some affordable housing with a small cot a washroom and heat / A/C
some aid in food stamps and such
then finally have them start paying taxes even low amount
in that order.
church and other religious centers do this a lot why shouldn't the government / charities?
And thank you. <3
like homeless because he gets health an issue.
a homeless because a someone is young don't have parents because of death or some family issue.
A homeless because can't find a job but willing to work if it was not abusive job.
A homeless because they only can find abusive job and find it not worthy.
A homeless because some ID or legal identit issue.
A homeless because they are in mental health and they can't work.
A homeless because they don't want to work.
A homeless because he did a wrong path like drugs
I found it cringy when USA a country claim they are 1st world don't do this, probably they should admit they 2nd class as best lol.
Even no one care that much about Amircans culture, nothing hold there other than software companies.
jk
Not a bad idea, but not enough. I was thinking something like giving them shelter with a job if they don't work. Leave them without it. Otherwise, how will they benefit? Also, education should be easily accessible.
Also social systems to find homes for people. Of course priority is given to homeless single parents etc..
The issue is those who sleep on the street have issues. Mental or otherwise but they are doing what they think they need to. In America people are allowed to live how they want. You can't really be arrested for being homeless and forced into a system.
Some people went through the system but couldn't function to keep a decent household together. Public housing like that is subject to inspections and it is expected you keep it decently kept or be removed.
I do agree more could be done. Your typical shelter is meant as temporary and you can't even be there all day. They kick you out to clean etc. So sleep and food. But most people cycle out when they get housing either on their own of if low income through the system.
Need more assisted living place for people with issues. Years ago they closed the mental institutions that were bad but this left a lot of marginal people on the streets with nowhere to go.
or how about housing our own people first, before opening the borders for new blood that are looking to get situated? improve the system so everyone can contribute in their own way.
cos some people are disabled, mentally ill or suffered from abuse, they come from harsh lives, we shouldn't just discard them because they can't contribute, we should take care of them and re-train them so they can contribute.
i think its just disgusting when you cross the border and they put you in a hotel instantly, but at the same time veterans who fought for the country and our freedom are left to the streets and discarded because they're no longer ''useful''...
