PC Case horizontal or vertical?
When building a PC do you like a vertical case like everyone else or something different and have a horizontal layout for your parts?

I don't think I've seen a horizontal case in like 25 years. Except those designed for server racks, I guess?

Mine is horizontal, there is a pic of it in my artwork. But no one seems to make more cases like that and I really want a new one but all I can find is boring vertical tower cases.

There's a number of SFF options that go horizontally, the Fractal Ridge was released recently for example, but they're all Mini ITX/SFX cases.

I use Define R5 and 7 horizontal, no graphics card sag, good air flow, running 35 degrees C at idle under 70C under load, no worry about giant air cooler heatsink warping motherboard, better for rack mounting and front panel access.

The gods intended PC design to be horizontal, that is the law all too frequently volioated by heathens.

How about open-frame (like Thermaltake's product) ones?
Never used before but kinda interesting this one.

The coolermaster case I use now is open frame, I mean it comes with side panels but you are not obliged to use them at all. My board is full size ATX and that is secured on a removable tray that runs along the middle of the case bottom half of the case is where two hard drive bays and optical bays are, and where the power supply sits, top half of the case is motherboard and all the lovely wires. I have two intake fans and one exhaust fan, my temps are coolish

Vertical, it not only looks better imo but it also saves space.
