You spend so much more time saying what isn't an RPG than what is. What is an RPG to you, and no I don't want only examples. What makes an RPG in your eyes? Why are they RPGs?

Roleplaying is what makes those games, if your roleplaying in any game then in theory that game is an RPG, if your playing a role thats pre-asigned then thats still an RPG, by all logic you dont need anything indepth to make an RPG, having a role to play is the basics of it.

Any game, that contains a combination of some tabletop traits, as long as they're not heavily outweighed or simplified by the influence of other genres. So as far as I'm concerned, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age, Gothic, The Witcher, Fable, The Elder Scrolls, Cyberpunk, Mass Effect and Fallout can all be considered digital role-playing-games. I'm no purist. I just want a entertaining and immersive experience, which will allow me to write a story of my own or partake in the journey of a pre-established character.

Action RPGs are RPG just because it's not turn by turn nonsense doesn't mean it isn't an RPG.
And i kind of enjoy turn by turn nonsense it's just i played way too much of it.

What is not an RPG is Fallout 4.

Baldurs Gate is a true rpg. Cyberpunk is more a casual action adventure

Agreed, Cyberpunk 2077 just doesn't seem or feel like one at all. What it feels like is a turnoff-ClusterFluck in every frame and scene even at high frame rate.

Witcher 3 seems to be more of an entry level role playing game in a way, that takes way too much time to just get into. Yet, Witcher 3 is great in it's own way. That's if you can wrap the mind into it enough to allow it to take a hold of ya.

Weird, I don't recall seeing "Turnoff-ClusterFluck" in my Steam tags.
