Can someone tell me the meaning of this dream I had last night?

I usually never have dreams, or perhaps remember them anyways, but here's one I had that stuck with me.

In the dream, I was in my own room, in my own bed. Nothing was felt too different, only thing is my eyes of course were tired and half open. Then, something happened. It was lights coming out of my window. I touched the light, and my entire vision changed.

I felt so ethereal and out of body. The lights opened my weary eyes. The colors, patterns, and shapes were blinding, yet they were beautiful! It was like I entered another dimension, or perhaps made contact with something from beyond this world.

It lasted for who knows how long, or how short, until I awakened astonished. To help you understand what it looked like, it was like almost like the old Doctor Who intro, and the stargate scene in 2001, except there was no music or anything, just white noise and the endless lights and colors.

I'd be more than happy to hear an explanation for my dream, if anyone can interpret what it meant!

Dreams have no meaning...

Probably not a dream in the traditional sense. Perhaps you were astral projecting(made easier by being asleep already). If you have more it may give it all some context.

I think dreams are feedbacks from the body in deep rest.
For example if your body feels cold, you can dream of rain and maybe some aliens that makes you shiver.

If you dream of other dimensions and changing of shape, it probably means you farted and it smell really bad.

Dreams are the result of the "dangers" of everyday life and serve the function to prepare folk to face their worries and real life challenges.

Think of dreams as a survival school.
