there is also a lot's of controversy because some peoples claimed tik tok gather a lot's more users data then other website such as youtube.

Just like all social media

I personally do not have an account but becuase I have enough with uploading in YouTube and I upload more than I watch, but when someone sends me a tiktok link I just see it, I will not be like "ewww is tiktok ,why you sending me this?"

Also that nowadays tiktok does have long content (up to 3 min...)

However I still prefer YouTube over tiktok 🤷

Maybe I'm out of touch, but every single word after this quoted piece of comment feels like random word salad to me. Maybe that just speaks to how successfully I've avoided Tiktok thus far.

Personally, I don't avoid Tiktok like the plague because I hate it. I avoid Tiktok because I fear it's well designed to separate people from their time and attention, and I know that I am probably susceptible to that. It's why a recovered alcoholic avoids the bar, or a recovered gambling addict stays away from casinos.

Start watching Tiktoks, and hours later I've achieved nothing, my whole day is wasted, and my (already miserable) attention span is worse off.

I though it was hated because China decided to jack peoples information with it far more aggressively then Youtube could dream of and rather then fixing it, China opped to just outright confirm that said information was true.

I mean its more believable I guess since they also outright said to the US "Why did you shoot down our spy balloon" despite many claiming it was a weather balloon, China even then said it was a spy balloon so their not good at lying or gave up trying
