Would you change your name if you moved to a new country
That speaks a different language? And what First name would you like in that language if you would change it?

Like a long time ago in high school Spanish class they offered us a number of common spanish names, such as Felipe, Alejandro, Diego, Carlos

For examples try google search "french names" but replace french, with the language you want, unless you want French.

As my experience of having my name mangled by every foreign teacher I had as a kid tells me: yes.

You'd understand if you heard some of the things they unintentionally called me
Yes. I would name myself “Hugh Jazz”.
No.
As if that's a choice for some of us.

But that would be misinformation :hcs_tiffany:

Wouldn't it?

Probably not, if I did move it would be in the U.S. and I'd fit right in with my current name.

Honey… I spread misinformation all of the time. I even made a post about “free 30 count chicken nuggets at Chick-Fil-A” on Twitter and people believed me.
I might or I might not. I will see to that.

Depends on where to. My name is quite "western" (which is to say, one of many names which originated from Abrahamic religious texts), but it's spelled in a kind of weird way to fit the phonetics of Hungarian, which is my native language. But it otherwise would be pronounced about the same, so I don't really need to change my name, just the spelling, if I wanted people to read it correctly.

In non-Latin writing systems, especially in Asian countries, it might be a little more complicated to translate. But I'm not really picky about people saying it super accurately, "close enough" is good enough for me.

Nah... My name very international
1) I would not emigrate as a matter of principle.

2) In the fictitious case that I did, I would possibly marry a local and take her family name.

3) If children were the result from the marriage, I would make sure that they were given native first names so that they would be fully integrated in the next generation in terms of names.

I think assimilation is the best way to personal integration and state unity.

If I moved to Japan, I'd name myself Igata Takeshita.

Seeing as the family name comes first in Japan, you'd end up sounding like yoda. Although I think that actually enhances the joke. :steamlaughcry:
No.
