What’s your favorite medieval weapon?
I always found the naginata to be an interesting medieval weapon from Japan.

Bubonic plague

I did get chewed out by my old History teacher during the exercise when she gave us a mound of modeling clay and told to make an accurate Norman castle, and I was wasting time making little clay animal and human corpses to catapult over the walls and poison the waters with.

Also, I was a bit of a jerk and almost made another girl cry, criticizing her for trying to make clay cannons, 400-some years too early.

Those old Mobile playsets really are bad influences on kids.

Fun fact but spears are usually the main weapon for infantry. Swords are mostly used as backup weapons when the spear breaks during combat.

Wakizashi.
More of a short version of katana serving as a backup if katana were to broke or they were to lost it in the middle of the battle.
Its size has made it very useful indoors where katana would've proven to be too long and heavy, making wakizashi a better choice in such situations.
Nowadays, you're gonna be amazed by how well decorated some are.. Again, its size playing a role and making it look kinda fancy in comparison to the longer japanese swords, katana once again being a perfect comparison and example.

The fact that humans used biological weapon before even knowing how it works, should give you a lot to think about...

Another fun fact for you but the best method to unalive a noble knight is a blunt weapon. Maces, Warhammer, Poleaxes will do the trick. Or if you’re really fancy then a flintlock musket.

At Agincourt, after the famous longbows knocked everyone down, it was clubs and hammers that did all the real work.

A plate armor could actually protect the knight from a musket shot :P

The cut and thrust sword of the late middle ages is my favorite sword, however if your wanting an earlier period sword, just a traditional arming sword would do the trick. Both of them are more backup weapons in a battle, although the same thing can be said for a large percentage of swords throughout Eurasia during that time.
