USA- a crumbling empire.
Not a day goes by that I can’t stop thinking how USA is falling apart like Rome, before my eyes. I see people waving foreigner flags in this country, and I ask myself: where is the good old American flag in the crowd, but just outlandish, outsider flags? Especially after what happened in Middle East. Why are they here? I wept gently, then I was angry a little :(

I agree with you Jim and I'm even part of the "proud to be White" crowd. This is a nation of immigrants and us Euros did immigrate here, bring slaves and form a multiracial/multicultural society. There really isn't an "American" identity.

Thank you.

American culture is an amalgamation of different cultures. It's a melting pot. That's what makes us unique. That's what we should celebrate.

This anti-ethnic movement is as anti-American as the definition allows.

Besides, we're competing against China this century. They have 1.5 billion people, we don't. How do you think that's going to work out?
I mean, I'll take that even a step further and say that there is no "we". I personally don't identify as "American", nor do identify with the millions of people here or this country. I appreciate living here, but only because most other places are significantly worse, so I have a stake in the wellbeing of this nation. That said, immigration is just making us poorer at this point and I mean that literally.

It doesn't have to. If people would stop fighting the inevitable and start and turning these people out as working, tax-paying citizens-to-be, we'd be making bank.

But people gotta hate and so they don't get paid.
BTW, about that last post that I would edit but I'm sure it's going to get read while I type this:

They're taking our jerbs.

Okay, but not the jobs anybody else wants. Look at all the food rotting in the fields because they ran all the migrants off in Florida. kek

Besides, you get them working and in a house or apartment, they are going to need water, food, clothes, gas, electric, pizza deliver etc. internet just like every other household. That creates jobs.

What has more jobs: a town with 1000 people or a town with 10,000? The presence of settled people creates jobs, rather than a net loss.

The thing is that most of migration here is low-skill and low education. Rich people love this because it cheapens the labor pool. We don't need more unskilled labor and it is a massive, massive undertaking to lift people out of poverty and develop them. This country is over a couple hundred years old and has never solved its problems with the underclasses. Importing more poor people is literally only going to make this worse. The US should switch exclusively to skilled and highly educated immigration and invest all the money they'll save on welfare into developing our neighbors in Latin America.

I wouldn't go that far, though with the compromised, nakedly corrupt supreme court, things could be better.

Needless to say, America's revulsion for the magat terrorists and lunatics has only increased since their red trickle. The next midterms will be even more of a wash.
The American Dream isn't real. Getting married and finding decent housing is much harder than it was in the past. American authors have written about this theme as well.
Where did the OP go?

Strike the match, throw it, run like hell.

Yup and the middle class has been progressively shrinking since the 1960's.

There were people that did it at GOG when I used to hang out there.
As much as I hate that place I have to give them credit for eventually cracking down on it.

We actually had a name for it, "marzookered" from a user named "Marzooker" who would come in several times a day and start a thread with some name like, "Abortion is murder" or "Homosexuality is evil" and then get the hell out of Dodge, never showing back up in the thread.

We can't even spend money on our own students, ATM. The whole system is part of the problem, and solutions do exist, but people are too busy arguing minutiae to focus on the bigger picture.

If we spent the money we gave out to the richest corporations in America on education for all, we'd have money left over.

And point besides, we're always going to need someone to dig a ditch, as the current situation in Florida clearly illustrates.

Well certainly sounds like most people here fit well in with that kind of crowd

They're terrorists? Because climbing a building in terrible shape equals terrorism?

Hmm.

Slamming a plane into a building, let's call that minor terrorism

People being inside the building that is supposed to be welcome to the people, well, that's a very horrible version of terrorism

As a student in Florida I certainly agree with you, but we have enough ditch diggers. The problem is that like you said, we focus on "culture war" and not enough on combating corporate interest in Washington. Republican, Democrat, both need to go because they are both the problem.
