indie games vs AAA
Which do you prefer? For me, it's sorta a mix. AAA games are getting worse and worse. Bad launches, glitches, etc. The majority just publish the game 80% complete. Then patch it, along the way. Re-skins, using same lay outs, similar map designs, re makes. Not testing.

So, for me, i prefer indie.

I prefer games I enjoy, I don't care about whoever makes/publishes them or whatever label internet people want to put on it.

Indie for experimentation, AAA for dumb fun

No AAA game has been made in my preferred genre for years now. Also, the quality of most of them doesn't justify the purchase of the hardware necessary to run them. On top of that, most of them have predatory monetization on top of a high price tag and requiring expensive hardware.

I enjoy both because I have low standards.

AAA is a joke.

Since "indie" is short for independent, technically yes. But even though CDPR is the developer and publisher, since they are a publically traded company, you can't say the're independent in the same way as most other indie developers are.

Indies by far nowadays. The titans of the industry have fallen. Their products are of low quality. The system requirements are insane for what graphics you get. The new monetisation model is disgusting. They no longer allow modding and sometimes even threaten modders with legal action unless they stop. The immersion is gone due to weird skins (we even got a Nicki Minaj skin in Call of Duty), non historical events in historical games and a bloated HUD.

Recently I found myself playing a lot of Warband, a 13 year old game. The mods for this game are incredible.

AA and Indie is all I've been playing for the past 5 years. AAA is garbage and a money pit. Wow, look I can see reflections in a puddle! Who cares dude?

why is it called AAA games what are they screaming about
Kargor 6 OCT 2023 a las 1:14 p. m.
I take whatever game I think works for me. Don't really care about their financials.

Try out Bannerlord. Much larger scale, better visuals, and superior to native warband. Still lacking mods though, but all the major ones are in development. Looks very promising.

If only they had such attention to detail. Outside of RDR 2 I can't think of any recent AAA title that offered something like that.

Go look at that famous Crowbcat video comparing Far Cry 2 to Far Cry 5.

I tried. Refunded it. It's trash. The modding scene is a joke. Don't even have some QOL mods that work properly with each other. Every new patch breaks every mod. It will be years until that will be worth playing for me.

Technically Correct is the best kind of correct.
