They can.
I can illustrate it perfectly when I get behind the wheel. Sometimes I'm like, "dude, I have to pull myself together, I'm gonna slaughter someone someday", but then I do my usual shenanigans anyways after the thought goes away, with no care.
Emotions are over rated. Logic is better, but a logic that knows laws and rules.
I think that greed and ego can make sociopaths out of anyone... the person we must all be most on guard against is the one behind the mask in the mirror.
People do morally horrible things but are still within the law...case in point our government.
People shifting property lines a bit to steal a little land if they can get away with it.. it's legal so it's OK..
Slippery slope of sociopath thinking.
Sociopathy isn't solely so you'd commit crimes and be a menace, it's the worry-free life it grants, so you can enjoy your limited time to the max.
I didn't say no emotions. But logic is better. Emotion lets you understand, so you are less likely to say the wrong thing. Which results in an unwanted conclusion.
Like people wave at you. People that don't know you. But you wave back despite the pointlessness of it. So that there isn't a negative outcome for you.
