Why many people hate Ubisoft and praise Valve??
lets check the numbers :

-in 2022 Ubisoft made 2 billions spent 95% of it on their employees and to make new games,
there is like 15 games coming from Ubisoft in the next few years.
-in 2022 Valve made 13 billions ( x6 times ubisoft revenue ) and they made nothing, only CS2 still the same old game from 2012.

-Ubisoft has 20000 employees making games.
-Valve has only 350 employees who are making no games, and they can't if they want because 350 is not enough for the store Steam alone.

Valve takes 13 billions from the gaming industry every year into their owners' bank accounts, and Ubisoft spends all of its 2 billions on making new games every year.

Why do people hate the wrong company? and praise the most terrible company?

I prefer a company that does nothing over one that does garbage.

I'd rather Ubisoft just remake/remaster some of their older games than making new ones. Rainbow Six Vegas remastered or AC 1 and 2 remakes would be better than the majority of new games they make.

Because Capcom makes good games. Also, Capcom is a far better studio. Even Assassin’s Creed cannot even get close to rivaling the quality of the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter franchises.
i played RE7 and RE8 both are 7 /10 games at max, RE7 was better game than RE8.
i also played Monster Hunter world, ok game if you are obsessed with Japanese culture, if you are not then its very bad.
i believe their best games are the remakes.

Yeah, Ubisoft is finally making a game to make old school AC fans happy, but they won't release it on Steam.

they where also supposed to be remaking Prince of Persia : Sand Of Time , I've look on google and it seem the game is not out yet with.

seriously I'm dissapointed that ubisoft buried that franchise completly to just keep making assasins creed games almost every single year.

I played a few assasin creed game and meh , I found Prince of persia and it's universe just much more fun and interesting.
there is one new Prince of persia game coming from Ubisoft called Prince of persia: The Lost Crown coming next year, also another remake Prince of persia game will be released later.

Why are you here if you think that Ubisoft is better than Steam you can go visit and posting in their social media or forum (I don't even know if they have one or not) and play their (pathetic and crappy) games instead.
because i own games here in this app, also when i start buying games from their store i didn't know about how terrible they are back then, i did some research and i found out later, so it was a mistake and now i try my best to buy my games from other stores not from here.
and btw people are here not because Valve games, but for other games from other studios.

At least Resident Evil and Monster Hunter kept their core identity. Assassin’s Creed became a hollow shadow of itself when it transitioned from action stealth and science fiction to a derivative action rpg and frivolous mythological fantasy.
I hate Ubisoft for the reason they took my money for ANNO 1800, jumped ship to EGS, released all the DLC for it there while shadow releasing it on Steam in which case you couldn't find it unless you were given the direct link to the DLC,

So they lied about continuing support for Steam customers, I missed all the DLC for this reason.

Then once EGS money dried up they came crawling back to Steam offering a bundle with all the DLC, BUT in order to buy the bundle I have to buy the base game again and they offered no discount for those that bought the game originally.

so ♥♥♥♥ Ubisoft. I have since obtained the game and DLC for free. Ubisoft deserve nothing from me.

I also hate Valve because of the fact they abandoned TF2 and let it die yet still have the cheek to throw crates at me every time I load it and expect me to give them money on a game they abandoned.

EA the best.
EA and Rockstar are in the bottom of the list for me, Valve is little bit better than them.

How much of that 95% was on CEO and senior management positions?

As for hating the wrong company....
Ubisoft literally tried to push out that if you don't agree to their bs new terms and conditions by a certain timeline - they will delete your account. Luckily consumer laws flat out stopped that despite them pushing out the message and everything.

And are we just going to ignore that they intentionally slap on ADDITIONAL DRM on top of denuvo causing a ton of performance issues because they were stacking multiple layers and when confronted they just talked crap about their user base being a bunch of ungrateful pirates?

Who the hell cares what Valve does with its money?
We have tons of upgrades/updates to Steam, we have paid moderation, we have community profiles and options, groups, workshops, new VR equipment, Steam Deck... etc etc what does Ubisoft uplay have? So what if they don't make games anymore, they don't take their amazing titles and run them into the ground like Splinter Cell, Division, Assassin's Creed.... all of those were ran into the ground and changed heavily from what originally made them great. I'm still baffled at how you can turn a stealth game into a action shooter with some stealth....

I heavily disagree with your stance here.
i care about what Valve do with the money because they are making more than any other company x6 times Ubisoft and they make no new games.
their app is full of errors on PC and unusable on Phone, can you imagine the browser in my phone is better than the official app?
i care about the money because they are taking 30% cut from games studios and they are not making new games, which mean the money go outside the gaming industry.

Valve fans have been asking for Half Life 3 for ages, with simple google search i found out people where asking for Half life three 12 years ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDOhOPQwk3E

also people where asking for TF2 support, at least ban the bots that infested the game, but they don't care.

they are here to take other studios money and make no games, all their games are older than most of Steam users.

13 billions last years is enough to make 26 masterpiece games and they will get much more profit and everyone will be happy.

and btw they have only 350 employees and Epic store who have smaller store have 3000 employees, so these 350 Valve's employees are doing the work of 3500, each one is doing the work of 10.
Valve made 13 billions last year, and Epic made 6 billions.
Valve has the money to hire 10k but they are greedy, this is why i care what Valve do with the money.

This is why AC Mirage didn't come to Steam
we all should boycott Steam and buy from the makers themselves directly to support them, they deserve that 30% cut.

the next 10 upcoming games from Ubisoft will be
2 games 9/10.
6 games 7-8/10
2 games very bad.

so 8 new amazing games added to the play list you can pick from them, playing only old game sound sad and miserable.

I do not hate or love either of them and I will say that I pay little attention to what they are doing.

Ubisoft is booooooooooooooring.
valve make more money because steam is a game store.

they provide a service selling other developers games so that these peoples don't have to worry about servers infractructures and game distributions.
Incarnate Oct 4, 2023 @ 1:46pm
I would rather see a company have few employees and make no games and support the ones they did make than have a million employees making mediocre game after mediocre game, which they don't support.

Valve is in the business of selling games now. I'm okay with that. Ubisoft is in the business of making terrible live service games and ruining their classic IP. I'm annoyed by that.

From their awful controls, to their bad writing, cookie-cutter design, horrible stealth, bad history (don't get me started how they f**ked up the Assassins vs Crusader story), bloated games with level-gates and tiered weapons and XP boost "time savers", etc., I think Ubisoft might done more long-term damage to game design than any other developer in history.

And HoMM isn't even their 1st party franchise, they're not making it. 3 and 4 were made by New World Computing and 5 by Nival Interactive. They didn't make 6 and 7 either.

Yeah, the fetid stink of Ubisoft shouldn't confuse people who don't realize they are also a publisher.

The only "Ubisoft game" I think I like is Hell's Highway. That was developed by Gearbox.
I'm NGL this ♥♥♥♥ won't excuse all the lawsuits

it may be a joint partnership of 2 diff companies into 1 merger recently but still

doesn't excuse

Valve, other than payday 3 recently which wasn’t made entirely by them, has always had a consistent quality of their games: portal, L4d, half life, csgo, all very patched and very enjoyable games. Ubisoft has such a massive influx of games and own so many smaller development studios that it becomes clear that they care about quantity of quality: money over fan loyalty. The last 3 far cry games (not including primal) have been either buggy or incredibly derivative of the original 3, assassins creed in my opinion hasn’t had a compotent release since black flag, they’ve been trying and failing to release skull and bones for almost 4 years now, uno is flat out broken on Xbox, and their standout games, like rayman legends, far cry 3, and black flag, are random masterpieces stuck in between thousands of godawful games. Even mirage looks like it’s pretty underwhelming, despite it abandoning a lot of the issues people had with Valhalla.

Valve, at least when they made games, wanted quality, wheras Ubisoft then and now, wanted quantity.
