Nothing else would've happened.
The interesting part is the step of those who're supposed to change or remove the AI entirely to prevent such events from happening ever again.
Since they can't confirm whether they've succeeded at changing the AI, deleting it entirely also can't be proven or confirmed because it's an AI we're talking about.. The AI could've made some back-ups just in case afterall.
In short, it'd be believed that the AI has been changed or removed; However, nothing would've really happened. The AI would've simply stored a back-up somewhere and do whatever it wishes to do.
Whether the AI changes its mind to do something else is entirely up to the AI itself, and so the result of what's gonna happen is as unpredictable as trying to tell when's gonna sun burn the life on Earth..
Very very close, but replace "the corporation would win" with "the corporation would settle out of court."
Settling out of court is how companies keep their operations private and keep the legal system from setting precedent against them.
General AI such as a robot that might choose to decide to kill is not something "programmed" to do so.
