Its difficult getting our local authorities to clean our roads our taxes pay for as it is.
That said I agree that electric cars have a ways to go before they are as good as gasoline cars. For now hybrids are the way to go if you want something practical that is better for the environment. Eventually we will have to switch since the supply of fossil fuels is finite, but right now we need more research and development to improve battery technology. I've seen talk of potentially using sodium-ion batteries instead of lithium, which would have the potential of being way cheaper at the expense of more weight, but it isn't practical yet.
Besides... I think poop is the least of our worries.
"For a 90-minute flight between New York JFK and Washington DC, a passenger on a commercial airliner causes 174 lbs of carbon emissions. A passenger on the same route flying a private jet is responsible for 7,913 lbs of emissions on the same route. The passenger on the private jet causes 45 times as many emissions as one on the commercial jet."

"A typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year."

1 metric ton = 2200 pounds so about 10000 pounds per year
1 car = about 1 - 90 minute flight
2.15 millilion private jet flights in us in 2020

so lets say gates flys to epsteins island or davos 2 times a month that is 104 trips a year which equals the usage of lets say 85 cars in a year
The electric car was invented in 1890 by William Morrison...
There's many reasons it's not in every garage in 2023.
And even more reasons why it's not going to be a thing any time soon thankfully...
Among those reasons:
