Foods that gross you out?
Anything that you just don't like to eat, not because of flavor, but just because you find it repulsive?

I think super melty/stretchy cheese is absolutely vile, the texture and just how it slops everywhere makes me want to gag, especially when it's excessive and overpowers everything else. I love cheese when it's crispy or in moderation, like a bit on pizza or shredded Parmesan on pasta, but something like a Mozzarella stick makes me want to throw up.

Are there any foods that gross you out?

You people are soft; I'd eat a lamb brain, but I wouldn't eat the head (like its face). Using the head or eyes in any recipe tends to make me cringe.

Regarding the more common foods, it is an excessive use of oil that causes me to revolt in disgust. I hate food that just tastes like cooking oils; this includes anything that was deep-fried.
You have not lived until you pierced into the eye of a giant squid. Very gooey...
casu marzu - is a sheep milk cheese that contains live maggots which eat the cheese, poo in it, and wiggle around in it until it's all mushy. the maggots eventually develop into flies, they have sex, then they lay eggs in the cheese which become maggots.

the cheese is left with this happening to it for 3 months. it is illegal almost everywhere and extremely dangerous to consume.

according to some food scientists, it is possible for the maggots to survive the stomach acid and remain in the intestine, leading to a condition called "pseudomyiasis".

pseudomyiasis is where a maggot grows inside the host while feeding on its tissue. this leads to infection.

Mushrooms for sure, I dunno why but their texture is soo repulsive to me. It might be the taste of the mushroom itself as well (Tho I do like its flavour)

anything that comes from animals.

especially meat. 🤮
I'm really open minded when it comes to food but I'll never try Casu Martzu.[en.wikipedia.org]
I find meat and sausage soups disgusting. I still eat it because of hunger but it makes me feel like I shouldn't be eating it, you know? It's the texture. And the taste is depending on who makes it and how it's made.

From what I've personally tried and vomited up myself...

- Blood sausage / Black pudding

- Fetal eggs / Balut

- Liver

- Muscles

- Olives

Blood sausage was when I was 10 years old and in a fancy restaurant, spewing across the room!

Mushrooms don't actually have a flavour as such, rather just absorbs those flavours of oils/butter/garlic/etc. So it all comes down to how it's cooked. I quite like mushrooms, but only if I'm doing the cooking and with a steak or similar.

I'd disagree, mushrooms do have their own flavour. You should try cooking rice with mushroom stock, I find it scrumptious
