They are no doubt, one of the worst things to come out of modern journalism, standing shoulder to shoulder with the pedaling of Political correctness. I want to check up on modern events, so I click on an article, surprise! It'll show you the first paragraph or something, but then you'll get a pop-up demanding a subscription. I don't just want to take sensationalist headlines at face value, but paywalling makes the process of scanning them incredibly inconvenient.
