Today. Right now. Start memorializing.
Most of the world honors their dead soldiers on November 11th.
The USA honors dead soldiers on the last Monday of May, and the living soldiers on November 11th.
Technically, November 11th is for all Veterans, living and dead, so the dead ones get two special days.

But I have a scenario for you. Imagine you're a US veteran. Imagine you also have PTSD from serving (Probably way worse than my ptsd). Now imagine holiday hours at a pharmacy where you have to spend money to get your prescription to treat your affliction that you fought to have the "freedom to buy", and you're incredibly inconvenienced by the reduced hours and can't get your medication, causing you to snap, which leads to another mass shooting in the US. .
