I would not judge the animals according to human categories but I know too little about dolphins and porpoises when they meet. I could imagine that they are food competitors and that dolphins drive away porpoises.

I mean, they are different species but they look similar. I imagine there would be a conflict similar to what different ancient human species would have with each other.

As far as I know the dolphin is bigger and heavier and also more temperamental. Could be that they occupy different sea zones.
