Dual typing is cooler, and depending on the type can even be better with weaknesses than mono types.

Bugs have multiple weaknesses, so does steel. But combine them for bug/steel?
Fire is the only thing you have to worry about.

But mono vs dual typing doesn't mean much within pokemon in terms of move efficiency. A monotype fire pokemon is just as good with fire moves as a dual typed fire/flying pokemon is. There isn't really a "mastery" that comes with being monotype like Irene's thinking.

If I compose a multitype team I'm actually expanding the roster of viable opponents rather than limiting them, ultimately opening myself up to obscure compositions which only work against multitypes.

If i'd go for dual type it's probably going to be Dragon and Water type. Though i never liked Palkia and never will.

Dual elements is almost always beneficial because it's better to have coverage than not. and double stabs can be broken.
