Why can’t it be legal

What does "legal" mean? Prostitution as in trafficking, business, mafia you mean? You 're looking up in the wrong place.

University students who need help paying bills, wild party animals that open up with few treats, or naughty, horny girls, seeking sugar daddies outright, is the noble field of this sport. Law and order never even get wind of it and nobody gets any trouble anywhere in the picture.

The prostitution that everybody thinks of whenever hearing the word, should be illegal. It's exploitation and mistreatment of weak people and you get terrible service, too (other than adding to the poor souls' daily troubles and nightmares). Organized crime is by definition, illegal. As spending money on lesser quality goods to the ones you had been promised, should also be illegal.

Then it is slavery and not prostitution

Well yes.. or human trafficking. My point was, that it can be hard to see the difference in many cases.

Why did you delete all of your comments?

Tim Sweeney hacked my steam API and often deletes my comments.. it is annoying, but that is Tim for you, he loves to tease me.

So you're posting from 2 accounts?
It's legal here in Australia. There are just circumstances of venues, locations and management conditions to keep the sec workers and community safe.
Ultimately, if the human race wants something, as a rule they will find a way to get it. How's the war on drugs going in the west?

If sex workers can go to a regulated place of work with legal documents, up to date medical tests, rules of conduct, the ability to set their own hours and prices, a panic button to press in an emergency with security on site, the full and open ability to report crime without fear of repercussion, and do it all on their own terms....

Isn't that better than walking the streets at night with some pimp ready to knock them about if they don't meet their "quota" of risky hook ups in empty car parks, not knowing if they're going to slit their throat rather than pay them, with no help in sight and zero sympathy from the authorities, with half their money going to sex traffickers who will bring in more sex slaves on the next boat, get them hooked on heroin and make them take unprotected sex with the risk of deadly stds in order to pay off a debt that never ends? You know how a life like that ends?

Yes there will be an essence of replacing some bad aspects with others, and theres never a golden answer to all of humanities problems, but in the whole I think it makes the whole business safer for everyone involved.

As for the people who use their services, come on now, we're all adults capable of making our own choices.
It is illegal in most countries to prevent people from taking advantage of vulnerable people.

Agreed.

I understand the logic behind regulating prostitution. And it does makes sense.

But I don't think that benefit from regulation outweighs the value of keeping as many people away from it as possible.
Allowing vice to proliferate is destructive to your society, the harms are far down stream, a ripple of damage readily seen with all the other libertine projects of today.

Which creates the black market we have now of women who are horribly abused and forced into it because they can't get help through legal means.

Can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs.

Ultimately, it is more beneficial this way than basically giving carte blanche to would be abusers. Like it would do if it was legal here

Except places where prostitution has been legalized has seen decreases in abuse.

I hear you, SlowMango. We are talking about the lesser of two evils.

Do you want 2x more prostitutes out there? Do you want to condone women prostituting themselves? Do you want to tell your daughter why it's legal? Etc.

Possibly wins the award for the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, stupidest response I've ever seen on this message board.
Shrugging over people dying through trafficking and overwork, and then trying to actively claim that legalising something will actually make abuse worse than leaving it in the hands of thugs.

Slow clap mate. Absolutely outstanding.
Everything is legal if you're rich enough.
Ain't it weird that sex is the only thing you can give freely but aren't allowed to charge for?
