almost never. so far with very few exceptions most ppl added from forums have been scammers

Sometimes i get paranoid when i add someone, but not all the time.

I have specific criteria on my profile for accepting a friend request. If the requester meets one of them they are accepted. If not, they are ignored.

I've accepted unknown rando scrublords before, but they've all been beggars which is pretty obvious.

For me, everyone gets one chance. If things get weird or they have ulterior motives then I let them go. I mostly just enjoy their screenshots and art (I rate up whatever my friends do as best I can) and have found a lot of games that I never would have known about if it wasn't for them. I don't chat with them unless they initiate it, I struggle to be social. I think I have had an overall positive outcome with friends on steam. I've got many from various sections of the forums, just a few from playing games together (my computer is a potato and a jumper cable) but I don't multiplayer as much as I would like, and a handful have been randoms that request out of the blue.
