I said, "No way, Korean is the easiest language". Read my entire sentence
That can be interpreted as No way! Korean is the easiest language. So I agreed.
Difference in your sentence: You wrote " No way! Korean is the easiest language." with a ! mark which is agreeing but I wrote it with a comma and comma and exclamation mark aren't the same so....

Yeah but the most important thing is: It's hard to be fluent in Korean and is grammar is very different from lot of languages.
- There are no grammatical genders like with European languages.
- There are less irregulars than most European languages
- There are no Chinese characters to learn, just 24 Hangeul characters.
- The grammar is very similar to Japanese and Turkish
- The verb conjugation system is logical, and very similar to Japanese's
- The sounds are very basic like Japanese, the only exception is the patchim ㄹ which sounds like the German L.

"It looks very foreign to me" isn't a justification for "This language is really difficult!"

I've read the webpage content and it's a bait.

- Korean is hard to learn
- huge rules of grammar
- confused and puzzled
- vagueness and ambiguity (difficult to translate)
- conservative

It means someone who don't understand the language claim that it's dead.
It is possible for a language to die if its hard. People may refuse to speak it as they get frustrated and then the interest in language declines.

North Korea is not good and has lot of war so your argument doesn't suck

You have not explore the market yet.

If you can trade in Korea (become a translator, or sales person there), 5k income is easily yours. It's not easy to learn, it takes a year or two to learn that language, but that strong market and less competition is your gold mine. People all talk about learning German / Chinese / Italian but those are markets with huge competitors.

It's never a dead language. It's a unique culture that deserves respect.
Don't blame me for being wrong, blame the writer

err ya the writer made a clickbait.
He can't learn it so he was like 'ahhh this is dead'. :erune:
No idea what the motivation of the writer of that article is, but he is really exaggerating how difficult Korean is and grasping at straws, the page looks absolutely ridiculous to anyone who knows even basic Korean.
I find Welsh easier because, like Korean it is phonetic BUT unlike English, it uses the same script

Dunno, if Hangeul (a writing system designed to be as simple as possible) puts you off then maybe you were meant only for Latin characters :p
Yeah! That's what I mean

But what if you already knew the characters? Would it be harder for you then?

If you took the time to learn the writing system it might be easier for you with it than Latin characters.

In all fairness i have no clue why it would die, i am agreing with Irene on this much like some people think my languish is dying to grab your attention, but in grand scheme of things new words is adding each year in the lexicon.

Korean dying? Rly?
I struggle to believe thT but honestly but if they switch to a language with an alphabet will be much simpler v:
The Korean writing system is technically more simple than the alphabet despite what you might think

Easier than chinese and japanese writing? Sure

Easier than any language with an alphabet? Definitely no

So is not close to simple :steambored:
