What video game or series do you think is underrated?
Atelier series and Blue Reflection series.
The gameplay in these games aren't top tier, but the music and art in these game is just jaw dropping good.
The art is visually pleasing, everything is bright, colorful and almost perfect.
The music is very well made, some soothing and others fill you with energy, the music it's self feels like taking good medicine for your soul.
The stories are unique and lively, with some sadness mixed in.

The only flaw I can see besides the gameplay would be Yuri pandering, but if you can get past that filter it's worth the adventure.

playing a lot of old games lately. i would say thief. compare to system shock, thief is a bit... underground to say at least. system shock brings bioshock while thief brings just a very little

idk i never actually play a lot of underrated games. but i would say that thief 2 is better because of level design alone
I believe the award for most underrated title goes to Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. I think it's a fantastic game you can create any type of vehicle, cars, boats, planes and it works with physics.
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, came out in a really bad time, and had a terrible development

Counter-Strike: Source could be considered underrated if you prefer CS 1.6 bu t I do not like CS 1.6 or their community. Worse than the CS:GO community, hell CS 1.6 is worse than CS:GO

So I will not be giving CS 1.6 players a chance, and I will say CS:S is a good game regardless.

NO FORGIVENESS
get with the times old men
It's a shame that between Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, the latter franchise is the one to take off big time. IMO, Advance Wars has more interesting gameplay, character designs, less frustrating RNG, and even a map editor.
At least they showed some respect towards advanced wars with that remaster (idk if it’s a remaster or a remake the game calls itself “reboot camp”) on the switch

They still simp for Fire Emblem a little bit

If they do make another Smash game, and they can’t get the same amount of characters, if not more than Smash Ultimate, then I promise, on God they will just add more Fire Emblem characters

Supraland.

It's strange how good it is, yet to Polygon, RPS, Destructoid, IGN, etc -- it doesn't even exist, nor do the sequels, nor does the upcoming Supraworld.

It almost makes me wonder whether the gaming press is a pay-to-play racket, or if the devs have to be in the one-eye club or something to get covered.

Way too many visual novels.
I'd mention Sunrider, Flowers, and Grisaia.

There're definitely some more underrated visual novels and videogames from various other genres, but one simply doesn't have enough time to explore it all..
Can't really say there are so many games. I would say War of the Monsters from the top of my head. Had fun playing it when I was kid.
Shadow Hearts.
Ys.

Wanna say Star Ocean but the latest release suck so bad...:steamsad:
