I love the way those bottles on the door don't look like they're gonna fit in the fridge. Quite frankly looks hopeless. But you made it work didn't you, you Chimay enjoyer, you. Chimay enjoyers don't take no for answer.
And it looks like a nice waterbed, brown chicken brown cow. And your secret is safe with me regarding the QR code on the bottom left. Hush-hush.
I probably not even know where to buy it and I could go on bicycle to the brewery so not far it is.
Probably it is all only for americans who actually have no good taste for beer.
It's hilarious!
Best beer since 1998? HAHAHAHA only in america right , please you can keep it then we drink the REAL belgium beer.
And since you mentioned it, what other Belgian beers you think are at the top? I am an open minded explorer in the vast, endless sea of alcohol. If you think this is worse than something else and there are other, better goodies to be savored, by all means, please speak!
that is an unanswerable question. I live near Belgian border. There are in Belgium alone thousends of breweries.
beer from monastaries are often the best, cause these monks don't do anything in their life than pray and brew beer.
Bit in the evening. Fit in the morning!
When in utah last year, I started drinking Bud Light and I really enjoyed this beer. But next time I visit I will stay clear of Bud light in fear of being beaten up due to all the nonsense surrounding it.
Making a roux scares me lol
I've stuffed up maybe 3 brews by experimenting (hasn't put me off experimenting) and stuffed up 1 by not sanitising my equipment properly - but really if you can follow a recipe and have the equipment and ingredients, you can brew beer.
Extract Brewing is the place to start. It takes all the grain / milling end out of it, which is the more complex end of it. They basically do all that bit and boil it down into an extract, mix in some hops, and put it in a can. These cans are the recipe "base" and are made to the various styles (ie: Ale, Lager, Porter, Weissebier etc).
From there, you get to add the sugars / malts / flavours (hops/fruits/honey - your choice), yeast, and water. Bung all that in a fermenter for a couple of weeks and Wah-Lah, you got beer!
The benefit of extract brewing is it really lets you learn and experiment and get your confidence up. It also gives you a great intro to the whole process so you can decide where you want to go from there.
It's like cooking. So getting it "right" is fairly subjective. I mean, there are the beer style-guides but I'm more interested in brews I enjoy rather than perfecting styles.
Oh.... And it also gives you cheap but yummy beer, at alcohol volumes of your choice. I enjoy sharing it and getting the feedback. I keep my notes and try to improve. At the end of the day I do it for me, though.
It's fun!
Stella Artois is too fizzy to me for some reason.
I would drink a Bud Light too. But this is a beer thread and politics are creeping into it.
Peroni has a whole line of beers - like Red, Black, Gold, and Grand Reserve. I drank em all in Italy. Yes, I did. I was a bad boy.
No such thing as a single Heineken :D
I'm actually keen to try it for myself
I probably never would have even thought about it a month ago
Heh. Yeah, I have no problem taking sips of it. Sure, it could be better. But it is in my hand - looking at me. I personally people are too picky. Having a good time ain't about premium taste all the time.
Totally diggin' your brew talk, Ruckman.
Totally diggin' a lot of your posts tonight, Kbiz
I've had my whinge and my shower and my labotomy. Beer thread is a good one to get back into OT with.
Time to go and touch the glass
Shh. Drums in the deep.
Gotta say, you've been a dark horse in this forum to me - likes to brew and likes literature - and likes to brew tinker. Cool from my end.
