their games is now heavily pay to win , people quit
Every company has done something questionable, life is a lot easier to just accept that and continue playing games.
You're a gamer, not a shining beacon of morality. Shut up and play your video games nerd.
that's not horrible fate lmao
many indie games now days are better then notorious company games
Moral cowardice, or lack of a moral compass, is common within the gaming community, especially with the youth and with the cod franchise.
It is unfortunate, and I wish there was a more effective way to combat bad companies other than joining the few that actually do boycott. Though it seems like this is all that can be done aside from someone climbing up to the top of their career ladder and tearing them down from the inside, which also likely won’t happen.
for one to be a gamer one must think in 3d, otherwise most games are simply unbeatable. to think in 3d in this case means: to buy (x), not to buy (y), and why (z).
that's also why boycotts never work. most simply think in 2d. that is, to boycott or not to boycott. the result is always randomness (nothing).
Indie games rock. Its all I play these days.
1) Media has lost all integrity and moral, so they just push products like games and Disney movies, specially if there are (potentially) a lot of people to talk about it (doesn't matter if good or bad). They do show how Bezos' company, Microsoft, and Zucker Inc. are horrible companies from time to time, but just a snipet or a long piece without a major/prime spot in their papers/pages/tv-time;
2) People also have lost their values and are more consumerist than ever. They will enter mass movements to socially distroy some little known actor who said something sexist/racist/xenophobic for the social fun of it, while literally give zero ♥♥♥♥♥ about the people destroying human rights and the environment;
3) Just like Disney and Netflix discovered, today consumerists are suckers for reheated crap, even if it was mediocre in the past. All we have today are sequels to prequels of some side story of a title that was once famous. Now they've found the secret to rivers of money, they won't stop making those and people won't stop buying;
4) Some people genuinely don't know? I guess we have to account for ignorance.
Not familiar with their games, since I've never owned any Bintendo consoles but afaik they only make generic and cringe super mario and zelda games now.
I meant that if you only limited yourself to indies, then you'd be cutting yourself off from a massive amount of content/franchises, and you'd be stuck with games that maybe get 1 or 2 sequels at best instead of stories spanning decades.
