Has the news media trained you to hate russian people?
Do you notice that you react differently about rus immigrants now?

It's very difficult to say because for one, you cannot get any truly trustworthy content from Russia. Polls show that 75% of people living in Russia supposedly support Putin's illegal invasion. If we assume for a second that those polls are accurate, it would be wrong, at least for me, to say that they don't have an impact on the way I view Russians, on a more broader general level.

And on the other hand I also cannot say, for certain, that those polls are false. Even if they were somehow fabricated, even something like 30% would be very high; considering that there is absolutely no justification for this invasion.

So unless the polls are COMPLETELY upside-down, I do have somewhat mixed opinions.

One could say that people are being brainwashed into believing Kremlin propaganda which could be true but I think that nowadays when internet is widely available, even in Russia, people have the option to think and believe otherwise. So I would not take the responsibility completely off those people, considering the era we live in.

No, the Russian People trained me to hate them.
yeah same. ever since i started playing dota like over 10 years ago, the Russians pretty much did that themselves. but what the news have taught me the past few years is that not to trust the news because they do everything for views and narrative, its not about news anymore.
Of all my gaming time I have met but one group of Russians who were bunch of meanies, only once. :steambored:

Most of my encounters with Russians have always been fun and no problems at all. Very friendly bunch. There are fine good people out there.

You just got unlucky. ._.

I'm deleting what I can off facebook, since they allow russian hate.

March 10 (Reuters) - Meta Platforms (FB.O) will allow Facebook and Instagram users in some countries to call for violence against Russians and Russian soldiers in the context of the Ukraine invasion, according to internal emails seen by Reuters on Thursday, in a temporary change to its hate speech policy.

The social media company is also temporarily allowing some posts that call for death to Russian President Vladimir Putin or Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, according to internal emails to its content moderators.

Media cant train me because I have a properly functioning brain. I know both sides have done disgusting things
Western media is the most insidious and pervasive form of propaganda around.

Cartoon Russian villains have been the staple of movies for the longest time, even Christpher Nolan couldn't help himself with Tenet.

like before, not from the news but from the people themselves

You can't get any trustworthy content from the west, as they are so wholly owned by the media they don't know anything past the current headline.

Illegal war? The west has been engaged in illegal wars for decades, what is the body count of western/Nato aggression, the average westerner has no clue nor do they care.

The fact is there was more justification for this invasion than any of your wars, if you just thought about it for one moment and realized you are bombing people clear on the other side of the planet for half a century you'd realize the double standards, but you don't, the westerner has no self awareness at all.

If the soviets had succeeded at fully militarizing Cuba you wouldn't just be isolating them for half a century, there would be nothing left from the bombing.

The west are the most easily programmed moral crusader of the "current thing".
No, but all the fake russians posting here have made me hate fake russians.

I'd compare it to the "I did it for me" speech in breaking bad. On the one hand, he did. This is undeniable. On the other hand, he got to that point through a series of steps which allowed him to always pretend these steps were about someone or something else. Protecting himself, protecting his family, providing for his family, ensuring they'll have something when he's gone...it isn't that these are expressions of his selfishness, or that his selfishness twisted these needs and wants.

It's that Americans are inherently selfish, and the US in particular is a country where Criminality is the natural mode of behavior. It is the law. The law was made by, for, and ultimately in the pursuit of the best interests of criminals.

When an American man sees an opportunity for crime, he takes it. Unless there are things holding him back, such as for example his family. In this instance, he must convince his family to help him commit crimes. For their own benefit, for their own good, and for their own sake.

His speech is an attempt to deny his family's involvement, and to render them morally inculpable agents.

This broadly parallels US foreign policy: Walter White IS Obama.

When i use to play online gaming with others back in the day they were mostly all from the far side of Europe so NO, mainstream media cant and didn't poison my mind on either Russia or Ukraine.
You have to remember a lot of Ukrainians and Russians before the war have been crossing that border to go to work for decades upon decades upon decades. The Ukraine is just one of the many many conflicts that have broken out over that side so its nothing new at all for people old enough to remember.

You know that thing Biden wanted to talk to China about any country not being reliant on another ?

The Ukraine if fully exploited for oil and gas would ensure no Western country or allies would be reliant on Russia for it. You can imagine economically what that would do to Russia and the balance of power it has with the western world.
Just like the far east and South america the west is by hook nor crook (misinformation and propaganda) trying to control and influence the most essential resource because to borrow a quote, he who controls the spice controls the future. Says a lot about all those western governments talking about a zero fossil fuel use and how much faith they really have in solar, wind and the likes.

Venezuela, Iraq/kuwait, Iran, Libya, Syria, Russia, China. For gas its Russia, China, Iran. See a pattern yet ?

The people so consumed by western goods and life are blinded to the truth going on while governments including the Ukrainian government know exactly whats going on and will all sacrifice Ukrainians left right and centre to secure it.
If Ukraine ever did go into European union the Ukrainian people would never receive the benefits that this would afford them whether they speak Ukrainian or Russian.

Why have news teach you things when you have anime to teach you things.

News A: "this group of people is completely evil and we must stop them"

News B: "that group of people is completely evil and we must stop them"

Vinland Saga: "you have no enemies"

I do notice that ppl hate russians in game but becuase of language barrier v:

Ofc some of them hated me ,but ngl, I can be annoying sometimes 🤷

I mean, not everyone will want to speak english, idk why there is ppl thinking this is something exclusive to them 🤷
NO!. Their human too just like the rest.
But what worries me, maybe not their leaders on both sides.
Cause this war is starting to look like, a war between just 2 leaders using drones and bots to fight each other and the victims are on both sides civilians.
