small correction, it would lead even more people to do that than they already do
look up esg scores, having one and then having it removed is a good way to loose 10-20% of your company's value.
and yet no records were produced, thats what took the company from a 9 billion dollar loss to a 16 billion with a fund fully pulled out over it.
fact is target, if they do nothing, loose people on the right who can go anywhere else and shop, and if they do something the left attacks them just as much but through their companies that strong arm them with 'what a nice shop you got here, would be a shame if someone called you a biggot'
so target makes up threats so they can try to pretend to be justified when they take down pride stuff in pride month.
all you have to do is not pander, not be political, in america you have your rights, all you are doing now is rubbing what you do in peoples faces who don't want to deal with you, go advocate for this stuff in countries where it's a legitimate problem... oh, yea, all the west gets the rainbow treatment on all social media except those countries where its not ok.
the pandering is annoying but people largely tolerate it, but the moment you start going for kids, that's where most people's line is. whether target did or didn't doesn't matter, that is clearly the belief people had when you had pride childrens clothing front and center.
People rejecting a highly political message doesn't really reflect on tolerance.
And the United States is kind of the pinnacle of tolerance, especially when we compare it to other countries.
do you think they wouldn't be showing the security cam footage as a way to save their brand if they had it?
and pinnacle of tolerance... they may be a few places that tolerate it more, but that's the thing, tolerate. in recent years they have more and more been going after kids and this is where for most people who tolerate it and dont wholeheartedly embrace it, it crosses a line worth fighting over.
why not take the w that you have culturally and just live with it, why does it have to CONSTANTLY be shoved in everyone who just doesn't want to see its face. as far as I can tell the political side of lgbtqai+ and whatever other letter I don't remember or know, they have done it so much, so often, and in peoples faces in ways that just piss them off that its effectively a powder keg, and then you had bud light more or less show them, though an inability to hide the fact their boycotts do work, and now that element is more than willing to cut ♥♥♥♥ out of their life they don't need or can get elsewhere.
In all honesty, if I had the money right now to do it, I would start up a non political company for damn near everything I could easily source from china and facilitate selling it though online stores, as far as I can tell there is a MASSIVE market for just non political food/clothing/electronics...ect ect,
