What’s was your weirdest Steam friendship?

I had friends that removed me instantly for dumb and weird reasons like I said something that offended them which wasn’t offensive, rage quitting because they don’t have the patience to wait for me to go save them and then go complain about me in the forums which didn’t help their situation at all and I even had one friend I was in voice chat with remove me instantly because he thought we weren’t talking enough when I only said one sentence to him because I was busy doing something, lol.

Getting removed for no reason by people that you thought were cool hurts more, what’s your story?

I somehow have 51 steam friends and I don't think I've ever spoken to any of them ever. one of them spams the living hell out of my profile comments, I may remove him.

There was that one brony whom back when I ran a subpar gaming channel on Youtube wanted me to do a Lets Play of City Skylines. They tried to convince me to get it, saying that at the time it was on sale.

They then immediately started posting rule 34 of Twilight Sparkle in their messages to me. So that happened.

I never let it get weird. If someone adds me and they seem to be strange, I remove them.

There was one person who over the span of 3-4 days managed to irritate and piss me off so much that I felt physically angry when I logged on and saw that they were on too. That was pretty tedious.

I remember having one friend that I was friends with for a long time request to meet in person which I said ♥♥♥♥ no because I didn’t know him.

Well I did get to know him better and he turned out to be a rude and impatient person. Glad I removed him.

Few years ago. Randomly added a bunch of people on Steam to make friends. Was talking to some guy, hit it off and got kinda close.

We started talking about ourselves, turns out we not only live in the same city, but the same town… and go to the same college and study the EXACT SAME SUBJECT and are classmates in a class of around 20, who see each other every day.

Biggest coincidence of my life, it was the most hilarious and surreal experience meeting them after that.

I haven't had any issues with anyone on my friends list and I'm quite relaxed about who I add however most of my friends are from similar interests. All the ones I chat with have been cool so far. Only twice I had people try to sell NSFW photos/website content but I just ignore them.

Had a Japanese girl that I was pretty good friends with that initiated a lot of lewd conversations, sent me an unsolicited video of her bent over in her diaper (she was supposedly incontinent), told me she got a boyfriend, then gave her account to her friend.

Little dumb horny teenager me was into it and might've gotten a little e-crush until the diaper showed up. Me now thinks that it was either a troll/catfish or a genuinely horribly socially-unaware girl.

This one of those cases where I'm sad Steam doesn't save convos, because my memory is fuzzy and I might actually be mixing up two or three people.
