i seriously don't understand moonies
i think they went
but i think maybe they had backup plan if it failed with fake footage "just in case" that maybe got mixed up with the real stuff. Those astronauts said some weird stuff after the mission in the interview and looked ashamed sort of
Why?
Why the ♥♥♥♥ would they lie about it?
Most other conspiracies would at least have merits - hollow earth/lizard people means there's a secret society/shadow government, moon landing is a faux show of power..
What in the ever-living ♥♥♥♥ would be the point of lying about the planet's shape?
The most dangerous ones are the ones that rile certain people up. Get them scared and paranoid. Make them think some other group of people are out to get them. Encourage violence without actually directly encouraging violence.
Just last November a man in Ohio shot and killed his neighbor while he was doing yard work because "he thought he was a Democrat". The September before that a man in North Dakota killed an 18 year old with his vehicle because he believed him to be part of a "Republican extremist group".
We've always had gullible crazies, but now they can use the Internet to join groups of like-minded gullible crazies and reinforce their own craziness. I think the Internet became a part of our lives much too quickly, and society as a whole is adjusting to it poorly.
establishing a new status quo for "science"
limiting human curiosity and exploration
demoralization. "we've seen it all already".
not to mention the kind of control that deciding what a map looks like gives you.
there is a lot of reasons, but all it takes for me is the frothing mouths of people getting angry when i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to make me scratch my chin a little bit and wonder if something isn't quite right.
The real stupid theories however, are those that claim that nobody is trying to harm us.
I don't know about angry, but it is an insult to all the hard work done by the people at NASA.
The warning was given when Bin Laden issued a Fatwa in 1996 while Clinton was in office. He had a chance to take Bin Laden out, but didn't.
