No, often IQ just allows them to rationalize against common sense.
Personally I tested out at the grad school level in every subject when I was 10 years old, not sure where that places my IQ.
Another problem is that supposedly, IQ is judged according to "intelligence" AND age. After someone is 18 years old, it's considered extremely difficult or downright impossible to accurately determine their IQ.
Final thought: I reject the idea that the ability to remember and regurgitate information, is a function of IQ. My sister has Downs. She has the IQ of a five year old. She can memorize all kinds of stupid crap. That doesn't make her intelligent.
