YouTube is a trash can of advertising.

It's been so for the past years. Time ago there was a small banner you could "X" it. Now we have at the least 2 advertising before the video that cannot be skipped and one or two at the end.

All of this for a f.a.q.ing video of 45 seconds.

In easy words the advertising is longer than the video itself, and if the video is longer than 10 minuts you do have advertising even in the middle of it, and often it's not the author of the video who puts them there, it's YouTube itself.

But if you pay 10€ per month no more advertising. YouTube is famous only for songs and because that scene from that movie. That's all.

The rest is stupid content video of vloggers who try to look more cool than the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they say, no big deal.

I know, but the app on mobile for youtube doesn't have adblocker.

I dunno if somebody answered this yet, but i found a workaround. I dunno how it is on your phone, but when i am going down the videos list on the front page, the page starts the video you stop on on this front page. At first i thought it was jut a brief but it is the entire video... and there are no ads when you are watching it like that.

The downside? You are limited to a small resolution, but personally i don't care about the quality on mobile, i just want to listen.

I use this and it blocks ads in alot of apps for me. I don't use a whole bunch of apps though maybe like 15.

To use it on android go to connections>more connection settings>private dns
Tap on it and then tap on private dns provider host name. Enter the above and tap save. This is going by android 12 and 13. May be different on older versions of android.

I see other ppl here alredy suggesting it but well, I will say it too becuase I have my experience with them and they definetly do wonders... V:

My only complain about the one I am one using on the phone is that I cannot make image polls from that app on my phone, I have to open chrome on the phone 😔

Up to you to use my suggestion and fix your problem or just keep with the problem 🤷

But well...What did you expect? You are using a service for free that not even I would pay for and costs are not exactly really cheap so totally makes sense the amount of advertisement

This is just the type of complain I would expect from a kid or a teen (i include myself on that one back then :v)

Also if you do not like vloggers just do not watch them? Not the entire of YouTube is just vloggers you know that right? Lack of content is definetly not the problem...

i only allow ads on content creators i want to support, everything else gets blocked.

this is your pc. you own it. youtube, microsoft, etc, does not. you control what goes on it. not the other way around.

If you think that's bad, it's almost unusable with the amount of trash content filling every page. Like reaction video after reaction video of someone watching a more creative person's content and making stupid faces to it. Pretty soon AI will be writing scripts and doing the artwork so someone with even less talent can put up "content."

So yeah, if you think it's bad now, just wait a few more years.

I mention it sometimes but i keep getting French scam ads, there is a new one every week btw i have no doubt peoples mass report them but they keep showing up on Youtube.
Also let's not forget those cringe mobile games ads you know which ones.

I only allow in video sponsorship ads. All Google ads can kiss it since 90% of the ones I used to see were all in Spanish.

Maybe its just me but im pretty sure google/youtube/any social media needs the people otherwise no revenue period stroke period.

well tbh, i remember youtube from 2006 when i first made the account (before it was connected to google account)
it hasn't aged very well that's true.
on the other hand, there's ublock origin and adblock +, on mobile its a different story.
even one of its creators, Jawed, changed his only video description against the removal of dislike button.
yet since its media, ads are its oxygen, thats an uncomfortable truth. just use an ad blocker and you'll be ok i guess, clicking on the so-called "Shorts" its something i do not do, not my cup of tea either
