Ask a transgender woman anything (part 2)
This is not a debate thread!

It's been a while since the last thread, there have been some major changes, so I felt it's time for a new one.

If you have any questions about transgenderism or what it's like to be transgender you can ask them here! provided they're respectful of course. :vbcool:

Just like last time, I won't respond to bait or insults.

I don’t expect you to answer on behalf of trans people altogether as that is absurd; everyone is different and no single person can answer on behalf of a group of people. But, why do you think it seems that that is not the case? And I’m not referring to militant trans people; just as other extremists don’t set the tone for others, so is the case here. But just generally, in trans-safe circles I have never gotten the impression that women (AFABs) matter and instead, our experiences, struggles and even our bodies are mocked or trivialized.

so true. Also, resented so so much. They want to be us so so badly.

Women are not transwomen. and in logic things are exactly that simple. If women are not transwomen, then transwomen are not. _________

"same as" means something. I am not the same as a transwoman. We are different and have different needs. When I compete in sports I want to compete against other women. When I take my six year old niece to the YMCA and she needs to shower, the last thing she needs to hear is
that she must accept swinging genitalia in her face, otherwise she's a bigot.

That is absolutely grooming.

We can be nice all day long but as soon as you come after the children, all bets are off.

💯 But am not sure the current stats but yes, do we or do we not care as a society?
Yea I don't know if 40% is completely accurate, but it's something like that. That's the number that gets thrown around. Rigorous means of determining these things should be established so those who need care can get it, and the haters can stfu because it's established properly.
I usually hear it's between 42-45% and it's not fixed by SRS surgery, which means that the "care" being encouraged doesn't seem to be having an impact. Case in point Jazz Jennings current feelings.

Squares are just rectangles on a diet. :pug:

Probably has nothing to do with the bullying the ridicule they face for merely existing, which is exacerbated when they come out to publicly identify as trans.

First they feel bad because they are stuck in a closet, then they feel bad because people are hurting them outside of the closet.

Not that i expect any understanding from you on this subject.

question, can you double jump? in theory, if you're also a Brazilian, can you triple jump?

I don't think so, given we can look at other groups like slaves or people in the Holocaust who were objectively bullied much more and didn't have the high numbers.
Also something to consider is trannsexuals have existed since...well for a long time. And even though those groups were bullied, they didn't have the extreme rates that the modern ideology has. Something to consider femboys or drag queens are all equally likely to get bullied but don't have the high rates.

i've dated transgenders and it seems like their mental health is directly tied to their own acceptance of their bodies.

Slaves were most likely kept from killing themselves by having their families threatened if they did.
As for people during the holocaust? Uhh... do you have any stats showing that suicide rates weren't high amongst them?
Then again, most of them didn't need suicide to die, did they. They were getting killed. No suicide needed.

And for why things are worse for trans people NOW? I'd hazard a guess that it is due to how interconnected the world has become. We agree on this, yes? The internet has made a lot of already existing issues worse due to exposure.

When you have access to the internet, you are no longer getting abuse just locally, you are now exposed to the combined hate and vitriol of millions.

EDIT: Also! How did we measure suicide rates amongst trans people in the past if it was illegal to be trans more or less globally not too long ago?
If somebody identified as trans, they were killed... so.. how can you ask a trans person to partake in a survey regarding their suicide rates? A tad silly, don't you think?

isnt that like universal for all humans, ppl who dont like emself or their situations are more likely to commit suicide? isnt that literally the reason for all suicides across mankind

I just love it when people just need to bring up "logic" and how simple that "logic" is, then talk about how they're logical and everything they say or do is logical.

oh, are you referring to that study that compared the well-being of pre-op and post-op trans people with cis people? the one people constantly misinterpret as comparing pre-op trans people with post-op trans people?

actually, accepting your transness unlocks a second dash which you can use without landing first

When I posed the questions as I did, I recall having seen trans-identified individuals (I will not call them trans women either nor “respect their pronouns”) mock female bodies and our experiences. Case in point: A trans individual who stated he had bottom surgery and was “getting his first period” which at this point, we know is bogus. However, I was curious if there was some bleeding from the scars and what kind of experience that would be; as a woman, we try to relate. Ultimately, this crass person was making a joke about female periods and was referring to sticking a tampon up his… yeah. Going into the comments section and it was nothing but verbal high-fiving for the joke and talks of being “so brave.”
My guess is that was a troll re-enacting the South Park episode where the already obnoxious male gay teacher gets a sex change.

What are you having for lunch at work?
My go-to lunch at my internship is a brown baguette with lettuce, aged cheese and a sliced egg

I’d be interested in your response to my longer post. It wasn’t a question per-se and like I said you don’t answer for every transperson in the world but it would be interesting to see your thoughts.
Could you quote the specific post you want me to reply to?
