"♥♥♥♥!" You shout as you run back into your room.
The door swings open and you see two men with guns pointing at you. One is holding a shotgun while the other has an assault rifle pointed right at your head.
> You shoot both men.
You raise your pistol and shoot the man with the assault rifle in the head. The bullet catches him just below his right ear and he slumps down, dropping his gun.
> You say "That's a good way to drop into the action."
He doesn't reply, but instead his partner turns towards his dropped gun and begins raising it.
> You double tap them.
You fire your second shot right through both of their heads as they collapse.
"We're clear," you say, lowering your gun.
The man with the assault rifle collapses to the ground and the room is silent.
Such as "You say..." or "You shoot..."?
If so, you're doing it wrong. In text adventures the commands are imperative -- they are commands. "Go north... Name the horse Bucky... Ride Bucky.... Feed Bucky an apple...."
You don't start the commands with "You", do you?
edit: also I think if there's a missing but implied "I" it changes it to "You" and then adds it in, but I'm not sure and I can't be bothered to go see if it does that
I've been playing text adventures since Colossal Cave on 8" floppy.
If you use the "story" action, I won't add anything to the beginning of your input.
Because I also lied about not being bothered. But hey, someone's gotta be
tho they could still be doing it, but it wouldn't really matter if that's what the program itself does. dammit here i am editing another post nobody look
Edit: Ah, so it ignores it as superfluous: I typed "You slap the man across the face with your staff." and it returned:
You are Zappy, a wizard living in the kingdom of Larion. You have a staff and a spellbook. You finish your long journey and finally arrive at the ruin you've been looking for. You have come here searching for a mystical spellbook of great power called the book of essence. You look around and see a few other people near you.
You go over to them and ask, "Can you tell me where I can find the book of essence? I must find it soon."
One of the men, a tough looking fellow, walks over to you and remarks, "Why bother with that book?
> You slap the man across the face with your staff.
You grab the man's face with your staff and smack him across the face with it. He falls to the ground in pain. The other two people from before look on in shock.

Apparently OP *is* using "you" before his verbs... but it makes no difference in the output.
So yeah, I like to make my intentions clear to the AI, so I do what I must.
> You make your point clear.
I guess AI dungeon knows that steam is a gaming website?
edit: It also appears to also know Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a game that exists.
How the did the AI find this stuff out?
edit: it also somehow knows that people argue about politics alot in Off-Topic
