he was known for the flaming crown on his head, how he didn't get burned from it, beats me
This guy makes some good songs with dark vibes.

Burzum - Jesus' Tod
NOTE: Video uses the hit Jesus' Tod by Varg Vikernes owner of Burzum but the video itself is not.
NOTE: Varg supports European Paganism, especially Nordic Paganism. He often talks about how the expansion of Iron Aged ROME and their Imperialist nature repressed or destroyed the pagan cultures of their neighbors from the 7th century BC (Roman Republic) until Atilla the Hun sacked the Western Roman Empire. But this temporary setback did not end the "Roman" repression of their Pagan neighbors. Rome just took on a new Leadership that was at based in Constantinople until the rise of a new branch of their newly found Christianity got split in 2 with the rise of the Vatican when city of Rome was rebuilt.
NOTE: He claims that most Christian Churches (mostly Catholic) were built on the Pagan Holy Grounds.
NOTE: This is why he allowed this video to be used for the Burzum hit Jesus' Tod. That video is more fitting this song.
The hit Jesus' Tod has it's own official video featuring the album cover of the 33lp record Filosofem where the hit Jesus' Tod is from. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfBmYfnjLho
NOTE: He despises organized religions (especially the 3 major branches of organized Abrahamic religions) because he says they pervert the way humans should worship. He does not despise the people who he claims are "hostages" of the leaders of organized religion. Because of this many have accused him of all from Satanism to Antisemitism to racism and Islamophobia.
NOTE: He values tribalism more than nationalism but many who hate him will try their best to claim he is a straight white CIS nationalist. But most who actually listens to his historical documentary videos about Bronze age and Iron Age Paganism will agree he is tribal and values wholesome family values, honoring ancestors and a idea called Dunbar's number.
NOTE: He has been accused, charged and convicted of the murder of Øystein Aarseth AKA Euronymous of the Black Metal band Mayhem. Due to the circumstances he only served 14 years prison instead of a full life sentence. Aggravated self defense resulting in death.....premeditated killing of someone who it has been proven made serious death threats with plans to kill (Varg) and plans how to dispose of the body. Euronymous had even bought the tools and weapons he needed.... but as soon as Varg found out he drove to the home of Euronymous and stabbed him until he died.

The Freezing Moon (Live in Leipzig, 1990)
Featuring the vocals of Per Yngve Ohlin AKA DEAD
His suicide was provoked by the constant mental and physical abuse and bullying by Euronymous. Many folk in the Black Metal scene never liked Euronymous because of his egocentric, abusive and violent nature. Many sided with Varg killing him.

Is Varg Vikernes a hero?
The puppet in this song is nightmarish
If you want to know some dark songs that I like I think that Criptorchid by Marylin Manson and Haemoglobin by Placebo are the darkest ones amongst the songs that I like. They are dark but not THAT dark. Tool songs to me feelt like something that could damage my soul I felt so uneasy listening to them.
I felt the songs and videos would be better understood if one knew some of the facts behind the artists.
Often it's dark events that shape the artists who create dark songs.
This one is a crazy story, is true I believe
