It can be anything.

bionicles
I always wondered why people were always so interested in Bionicles. Personally, I always was super into Ninjago.
You just had to be there, but bionicle didn't have a TV show like ninjago and was more lore focused.
Every new wave revealed more about how their world worked and the people within it.

Instead of just "living snakes" or "ghosts" you had the bohrok, a swarm of machines built specifically to clear the land of life. Or the barraki, who were old warlords that were banished to the bottom of the ocean because they were too good at their job of being warlords.

It really felt like everything in that world had a purpose and a reason for being. Elements of the past would still remain relevant in the future.

Also I mean...they were robots (well kind of. They're technically biomechanical so they have muscles and blood and whatnot too) and robots are cool.

What I like about Ninjago is that the second half of the lore as well as the show focused on more sci-fi enemies like robots and cyborgs.

The smell of sprite reminds me of being 8yo and on a vacation

Don't ask me why it does. It just does

Things from childhood that I've managed to memorize.

It can be a lot of things, like buildings looking similarly to the ones I remember in my head, music and memorized lyrics taking me years back into the past and awakening certain emotions, or .. Pretty much everything you could think of, as long as I do remember that.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
