I've got ~15,000ish Steam Points, and would love to give out some "hilarious" awards. & if someone's joke makes your day or makes you laugh so hard you cry (or pee) a little, than consider paying it forward and honoring them with an award too.

Very generous of you to say so, thank you. I'm honored. At one time I was planning a series of threads like this myself. However, my time on Off Topic has been almost exclusively on mobile. Unfortunately, giving out points never worked for me through Steam's mobile apps, and the new app is even more problematic. So, take some of my points as a donation to the cause.

The Jester award is a positive award.
The issue is that some people don´t understand the difference between the Jester and a Clown (they are opposites of eachother) and thus award people the Jester becuase they think it has another meaning.

Personally I love Jesters and I have over 100´s of them.

For sure; I'm sure Steam intended for all of the awards to be used positively. I've personally only ever given 1 Jester Award, and it was to my best friend who - more often than not - acts like a goofball.

Nevertheless, the "🤡 The Jester Award..." title was just a joke (since people often use it to farm Jester Awards under the guise of concern over how it's used); the purpose of this thread is just for people to share jokes & some lighthearted laughter. Speaking of which...

LOL! I don't know if it's because I have dogs - one of whom likes to eat stuff she shouldn't - but I couldn't help but laugh at your joke. I'm just envisioning having to wait for my dog(s) to poop out Scrabble tiles and wondering "well, would there be a word?" 🤔

Your joke was perfectly timed following saranacX's, because all I could think is "OMG. It must be the same dog!" If so, that doggo really should change its diet. 😝

The Jester is the opposite of a clown, if your friend asked like a goofball, he should not get a Jester award.. maybe a warm blanket would have been better.


Again I understand that people farm it and think its a clown... it tells us more about society, than the award itself ofc.
Personally.. I love the Jester award and wear them proudly on my profile.
