New Zelda this week. Are you pumped?
I could be crazy but I don't find it appealing. Open worlds don't do it for me, nor do a lot of puzzles.

Perhaps I'll change my mind.

Bintendo isn’t getting a single cent out of me. So I don’t give a *fooooop*.

The 1st 2 Zelda Games & the N64 3D Zelda Game
Orcaina Of Time are the only good ones.

I lost faith in Zelda being good after that.

I completely disagree.
Twilight Princess is infinitely better than any other Zelda game ever made.
And Link's awakening is much better than the 3 you mentioned. Probabluy other ones too. Ihaven't finished Majora's mask because all the time travels / time resets make it too difficult and frustrating and I don't have te patience but probably I think Majora's Mask remake (3DS) is the second best Zelda game.

Ocarina of time is obscenely overrated. All the 3 games you mentioned have aged very poorly. Most N64 games have aged very poorly, the graphics at least, and Ocarina oof time had many other problems too not just the graphics.
I want a toffee Yoyo biscuit
Every Zelda game is different, with varied goals, gameplay, and mechanics. It's why it manages stay fresh.

And yeah. It is open world. So were a fair number of the games, including the very first. You never can tell what you are going to run into.out there. I still find stuff I've never seen and I've been playing for years.

Don't care for it? Quite alright. It's just not your thing. I loved it. And I am sure I'll love TotK.
i am on the brink buying it tomorrow. but i am not sure. mhhhh

Same

Idk if I buy dlc for two of my games
Buy a steam game and buy dlc for one of my games
Or buy Tears of the Kingdom
My favorite Zelda games are still Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Nothing wrong with the new ones design wise per se, but an open world experience never feels as complete as a traditional overworld.

well list them out for me, so that I can argue with you about a video game on the internet lol

I don't think Twilight Princess is as good as the N64 titles, the Windwaker, or even the newest titles.

Wish I had a switch so I could play botw before tears... But honestly I'd prefer a steam deck over a switch atm.

But that begs the question, what would you say is the best Zelda type game on steam?
If you like the combat, bosses, atmosphere, and cryptic nature then I definitely recommend all Fromsoft Souls titles, including Elden Ring and Sekiro.
I have never been pumped for a Zelda game. It is popular at home but it was never something I was very interested in and it is not available on PlayStation >.<
I already got the game today because the german retailer already delivered today.

After finishing the tutorial area. It's quite promising. Although they copied basically the entire gamedesign from the lost plateau in that you have to search shrines in a small area of the map.
But the new abilities are way more interesting than the ones in BOTW.

But I don't want to take away too much. Just don't be as stupid as I was when I bought Zelda botw ~1.5 years after it released. Watching way too many youtube videos on it and already having all the fun of the game taken away from me when I finally played it.
It's pretty much just a DLC. That said, I never even played BOTW despite owning a Switch for years so I might get it and just skip BOTW altogether.

Why should it be a DLC?
While Nintendo has made some questionable decisions with their IPs over the years. (unfinished games and such) Nintendo's mainline Mario and Zelda games were all extremely good games, as they exactly know that those are system sellers.
Do you seriously think that hundreds of people only come up with a game the size of a DLC after 5 years of development time?

Yes. It even uses nearly the exact same map.

Except that they've added a whole bunch of flying islands in the sky and they heavily mixed stuff up on the ground. You can still recognize everything, but saying that they've just done the ctrl+c ctrl+v trick is everything, but true.
And even if, then I highly doubt what the houndreds of people in Nintendo's AAA studio were doing over the last 5 years or so since development started.
