I never tried online dating but I think it's fine depending on ones mentality and personality. When people can make friends in forums and games, I'm sure dating apps work too.

creates unrealistic expectations as to what romance is and what should be expected of a partner vs the reality because after all,, why accept anything less than perfection when you can just end the relationship and have hundreds, thounsands of people to quickly choose from.

but sadly, online dating and dating apps are here to say and these days something like 25 -30 percent of all relationships start with online dating.

And the cold reality of it is it by far and large really only benefits women whereas a guy now, because of online dating must be close as to perfect as he can possibly be to get a shot because he's no longer competing with John david and cameron from down the road, he's competing with alex bill and thomas from the next town over, some cases further.

Yup. Success or failure depends on mentality like you said. And, I'll also add, one's ability to read others. I happen to be very good at that, so it was a success for me.

If I were to date people, I probably would date people that are from Earth, not the internet.

Internet dating is just...clout. Most just pretend to date, and their dating profile is to make them feel special

Everyone is on the internet at all times so it's not surprising if someone meets their partner through social media anymore.
The only bad aspects are when you meet someone who isn't realistically close to you and your relationship is based on perceived idealizitions of the other person. The distance hides their flaws and in time you'll just be wasting your youth waiting to meet up.
Also I personally find dating services and the people who frequent them repulsive.

There is a difference between preferences and holding something against someone that more than likely can't/shouldn't be changed or couldn't have been any different. Such men I see that say "pureblood" are usually looking to have kids though so that's an easy pass for me anyway.

met my first girlfriend in world of warcraft, we were together for 7 years. we were about to move together but she wanted to have kids and a family, i wanted to just game all day every day so it didn't work out. i wasn't too mature back then i can see that myself.. i kinda wish i had that happen now 15 years later, i wouldn't mind having a kid.
