The ending of Aladdin bothers me.

So Aladdin finds this genie, who can do almost anything. Aladdin asks him to make him a prince. The genie does his thing and I to town comes Prince Ali. Jasmine hates him until she figures out who he is, then she hates him for lying to her. He reassures her that he really is a prince. Then Jafar unmagics him and reveals that's he's not actually a prince.

Um... EXCUSE ME?

Yes the hell he is! The genie charged him a whole wish and everything! And then genie wants to charge him ANOTHER wish to make him a prince again, as if he ever stopped being one. Then Aladdin insists he doesn't want to pretend he's something he's not. Oh, you mean like NOT a prince? Because that is what you are doing--pretendkng you are NOT a prince.

So Aladdin openly acknowledges that genie shortchanged him (he didn't ask to look like a prince, and yet everyone including genie agrees that was all genie did), and yet still uses his last wish to uphold his end of the bargain. Except that should be his SECOND wish since genie never actually granted his first.

Anyway.

Aladdin began as a "Street Rat" thief so he had no honour to begin but turned his way by the third wish after learning his lesson that Jasmine didn't care for his arrogance nor fortunes.

But in late story Jafar made him lost his status.

So it's like you become a king, but due to political issues you lost power and is no longer a king.

It varies depending on which version, but he is supposedly between 19-30.

Disney version, he is 18-22.

I mean, it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't of comparable age in the original story that's hundreds of years old. But in the Disney version, they seemed about the same age.

That's assuming the genie actually made him a prince, which literally everyone in the story (including genie) acknowledges he did not.
