I don't consider it cooler, but I go with cds. Vinyl is for having a more unique sound with the music playing and it's also a different way of playing the music.

Better is really subjective. Hmm.... i don't know. Both are good. I prefer to listen to vinyl overall for the feeling and the characteristic sound. But CD is pretty neat. But, i don't have a vinyl player with ripping capabilties. Therefore i almost never buy them, tho i kinda buy CDs every now and then.

I disagree. I am a huge fan of a singer/songwriter called Harry Chapin. I own all of his CD's and Cassette's.

When I got my first record player, the first thing I did was to buy a couple of his records. To my complete surprise, there were tracks on the record that were never put on CD or tape. I have since found out that there are songs of many older artists that were never transferred to CD or digital. I don't know why. You cal look at the record and the CD side-by-side. Everything is the same expect for this one song that just was never put on the CD.

So, in my adult life, I got to listen to some Harry Chapin songs I had never heard before.

It was an amazing experience.
I would not call one better then the other.

CD is convienent and small , offer a clean sound. they're fine but when mp3 players and cellphones exist that can store hundreds of songs. CD kind of lost most of their appeal , I still have Music CD but they're all albums Ive brought a long time ago.

vynil for me feel more like the hardcore collectors Items , they have a warmer sound but also take more spaces then cd.
Digital.

I also get digital but only if it's CD quality.

In 1000 years after WW3, vinyl will still work perfectly, even using a rubber band and a bucket, but CD's will need magneto-optical lasers, and 2500 other things to lvl up the laser so it might read the silly foil, it will also need a power source, which is not a big deal, but maybe it will be in the future .... perhaps the power source will give away your location to some kind of immortal extermination nano mites, that might destroy you.

In digital vs analog, depends on if it's CD redbook (16 bit 44.1 KHz) and the DAC + amp used. Vinyl will always be higher noise vs cleaner digital, dependent on pressing, and subject to a degree of wear, and stereo separation isn't completely perfect, but can potentially have more detail (which may be resolveable, maybe not) and there's no digital to analog stage in between. Don't know, never done real tests, just talking in rough theory.

Stuff like M-DISC would survive bitrot and other conditions. Imagine if we could inscribe data in quartz.
