Me when the 3DS eShop closed:
OMG EVERY CAPCOM GAME IS ON SALE

*buys every Ace Attorney and Monster Hunter*

Now let's check howlongtobeat...

...

I have made a GRAVE mistake.

That's what really sucks about consoles.

I mean, those MH games are gonna take me like two years apiece.

They didnt add the 3DS games as legacy to the Switch shop? All they had to do was add a 3DS category?

No idea. I don't have a Switch.

I also got some 3D Classics and Metroid II. I had forgotten how fun Shinobi III is.
thats why discs and cartridges give you power and safety from someone flipping off a switch at hq

Depends on finding the weapon you're best at, and how good you are at reading the monster's tells.
I would've loved to buy some last minutes games but nintendo refused to let me connect my switch account or add funds. So now I'm stuck sailing the seven seas or paying $80 for a copy of DQ8 because I wasn't able to buy it before it shut down.
Also couldn't get the megaman xtreme games or pokemon tcg games, sadly.

Sounds like an US thing, that i'm too EU to understand. Almost nothing went on sale over here. One last "crappy 3DS regional-differences"-hurrah, which really was the only way, it could've ended.

I mean, if it were anybody but Nintendo, there would have been like 70+% off everything first-party and probably a lot more.

But seems like the only things that really went on sale were Capcom games.

Oh, I just realized what you were trying to say. No, the games still work even after the shop has closed down. The grave mistake was not checking to make sure they wouldn't take hundreds of hours apiece to complete.

I did a good bit of both digital and disc/cart in the roughly 2008-2018 era. There are advantages to both, tbh. Digital is way cheaper and (theoretically) never degrades, but takes up a lot of storage.

I'm pretty sure they did (but require subscription).

They just made a huge deal out of recently adding regular old GBA games.
...All 6 of them that they've put on switch, as of this post.
(Plus about 8 original GB games)

No DS, no 3DS.
(Unless they snuck something in in the last few weeks)
