Idk for some reason I figured reincarnation was just like human to human or at least animal to animal lol. That's still funny too, like going thru this while mistimed comedy called life, and saying "Imma do it again" at the end.

The concept is not quite that ridiculous. First of all, you only reincarnate as things that are alive. Your soul would not inhabit a teapot or a chair. An ivory teapot[www.kodner.com] or a wooden chair would be made from your remnants from your life as an elephant or tree.

Second of all, the concept of living teapots is not that difficult to imagine. Aside from Ms. Potts from Beauty and the Beast, people imagine being a teapot that is short and stout on quite a regular basis. See? This is my handle, and this is my spout!

Some people do find the idea of reincarnation funny and entertaining, for others though it is a important belief that they hold as part of their faith. So that death is not the end and is perhaps a natural and inevitable part of a cycle of life and rebirth. I think that often this kind of idea can provide comfort to people that have lost loved ones.

The concept of reincarnation is a subject that has had endless philosophical and spiritual debate throughout history, and the funny thing about reincarnation OP is that you cannot prove that it does not happen no more than anyone else can prove that it does.

Buddhism, for all it's loving kindness, does teach that the conditions of your rebirth are dictated by your accumulated kamma & kamma at the moment of death. If you are born with an illness or some other kind of challenge, fundamentalist Buddhists would attribute that to something you did in a past life. I have even heard extreme examples like, if you were someone who used to kick dogs & cats, that could mean having an issue with your leg in the next existence.
Or if you are particularly greedy & covetous, you could be born into the ghost realms, where there are beings with bellies the size of wine barrels, but a mouth only the size of a pinhead, their craving can never be satisfied.
