If your country is as technologically advanced as the United States being drafted is kinda pointless. Numbers in modern war doesn’t give you much of a tactical advantage when you can get blown up from a missile shot at 500 miles away before you get a chance to fire your rifle.

There's always going to be a minimum amount of people needed to run equipment and if you can't get enough voulenteers quickly for one reason or another I can see why drafting may be necessary in some extreme cases. However there would need to literally be foreign troops on soil previously part if a US State for me to consider it justified for my country to do so, or just not enough personally voulenteering to keep the military functional (which is also laughable in the case of the US).

Read on modern history. It’s almost entirely “Europeans find resources, kill/enslave the natives, colonize” then 100 years later say “we’re very sorry, but we’re still gonna keep the wealth”
