Fallout, but Dark Souls is a very close second.

What Fallout? There is a clear difference in game play between the Bethesda Fallout and the Interplay Fallout series.

Not attacking, I am just genuinely curious.

Both.

I'm not really a genre specific guy, I prefer RPG's on average but I'll play just about any genre if the game is good and even though the Bethesda approach is different, I wouldn't call it bad. Fallout 4 is definitely the weakest of the bunch aside from BOS though, but it's a blast with the right mods.

Probably Metroid. It's one of the first games I played as a kid and so I have a special place for it in my heart. It's also probably responsible for my love for sci-fi.

Which is your favorite? Mine will always be Super Metroid since it was my first one.

I really like all of them, but if I absolutely had to choose, I'd say Dread. It's literally perfect, I cannot think of anything I dislike about it.

I wonder where it's set. Iliac Bay? If so I am curious to see Daggerfall, Sentinel and Wayrest.
I am curious to see how they pull off the Skyrim Civil War aftermath and where the Dragonborn has gone to. Probably some dragon break stuff.

Borderlands is a fun franchise!

Soulsborne is very good.

I used to be a massive Capcom fan, but the most recent Monster Hunter and Resi Evil entries have felt a little new and shiny, and lack some of the fundamental pillars that drew me to the franchises

That leaves me hesitant on Dragons Dogma 2, which a few years ago would be my answer immediately.

For now, my hope is placed in Shadow of the Erdtree, the Elden Ring DLC.

Maybe Monster Hunter World 2( Monster Hunter 6/ the next mainline one if you consider rise a spinoff) will feature aspects from Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd, my personal favorites
