But the idea was pitched to the History Channel by Prometheus Entertainment[www.prometheusentertainment.com]. Oddly enough, the founder also developed the show Alien Nation. It wasn't that far of a stretch to see him go from that show to this one.

When people say they mistranslated it's because they didn't publish their theories on how their method of translation differs from the consensus, making there be no way of knowing the methodology or if they just purposely interpreted it to fit the ideas they came up with.

I did, when it was an actual accomplishment and not for example: given a place based on class or skin colour, given a place on some diddy course like psychology or history or some arty thing.

Perhaps in ancient times, there were fewer people in town. The night skies were clearer without light pollution to reveal more stars. So back then people can study and log star positions more times than human records. They can then develop conclusion and claim certain star positions created human behavior x and y which is true.

Today if they log one star position and there are trillions of people with different outcomes, so it's less acceptable.
