Poached eggs…
I usually hate poached eggs. Watery rubbish! Poaching eggs should be illegal.

Turns out, poaching them in salt water is just wrong!!

I recently discovered poaching them in a strong soup or stew instead takes them to a whole different level. Now it's one of my favourite ways of preparing egg.

What do you think of poached eggs?

That's what I call benedicts when I'm repeating the order to the server. I'm cute like that.

Mostly it's just a time saving thing. The brunch shift can be stupid busy sometimes. Brunch is more popular than it really should be.

It depends on elevation to be fair. But 4 minutes sound almost twice what I do.

Brunch sounds cool. Never been tho. Have never been that cool.
As a cook, it's definitely not what you wanna work, but it's the price I pay to get to do other cool stuff.

nice. so you're somewhat of a pro when it comes to the food scene? what's the worst thing someone can order during Brunch rush?

and have you ever seen the movie Boiling Point?
Kobs 17/mar./2023 às 16:28

Edit: I bet peoples who like poached eggs also like oysters

Yeah, that and I just realized we're probably talking about using home cookware and I'm over here using a $400 pot with amazing heat distribution.

Well it's just the only kinda work I've ever done. But I've learned from some really talented chefs. And I always try to work at places I could never afford to eat at. So that way I get to learn the really classy, fancy stuff. The worst thing they could order during a rush at my work anyway is like something gluten free, because that stuff burns fast so it really throws off my timing. And I've never seen that movie. I have a hard time watching cooking shows or movies because it's kind of a reminder of how stressful it can be.

gluten free is like pure protein or something? i really don't know much about gluten. but very cool that you are cooking with the talented chefs. a good culinary skillset is like an artform.

it's too bad that you dislike films about cooking, as i was just going to recommend another of my favorites. A japanese film by the name of "Tampopo:"

sometimes a yolk is more than just a yolk, or sometimes there is no need for poaching at all.

I'm not entirely opposed to watching movies about cooking, I'm just not crazy about them, but I hear good things bout them often. And that scene was really wild. The symbolism wasn't lost on me. :MICHIO:
